Targeted Acquisitions:

We work with small to medium-sized companies to negotiate and complete targeted acquisitions on behalf of ownership and senior management. We also have the ability to produce financial commitments, if required, to complete the transaction. We are very familiar with banks, asset-based lenders, subordinated debt providers as well as private equity firms who can bring the necessary industry experience and capital to the table. We can provide a number of references from specific deals.

Management-led Buy-outs:

We have completed numerous management led acquisitions where there is an opportunity for senior operating management to acquire the business on a negotiated basis from current ownership. We work as an advisor to management and work through any valuation and financing issues which may be required, including structuring any financing to complete the transactions.

Sale of All or Part of a Company:

Colt works with current Company owners to effect an orderly and confidential sale process of all or a part of a given business. We run a limited auction process which is specifically designed to be aligned with owner objectives and is sensitive to competition and tire kickers. In the past, this process has yielded fully priced results from the seller perspective.

Valuation:

In connection with a potential company sale which may occur shortly or sometime in the future, Colt will provide a current valuation and will judge the company’s performance within its industry sector; we will also review other recent trades and trends within the industry to determine other market check marks. If the company is considering a sale in the future, this is often a logical first step. If not a valuation every several years can be a good starting point for strategic review.

Capital Raise:

Colt Advisors does not take on early stage capital raising assignments. However, if a small to middle-market sized business is growing more rapidly that may be comfortable for its senior lender, we can be helpful by identifying other sources of capital, such as subordinated debt or private equity to assist the business with its expansion. We have many years of experience working in these capital markets and we are happy to supply examples.
